A Message To Members From Board President

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Swim Club I’d like to take a moment to thank you – our members
– for a great 2011 season. The club saw tremendous changes this past year including: the removal of a large number
of trees around the pool area which let in the sun and helped warm our water to temperatures never before seen; a
permanent retaining wall was added to the grassy area next to the pool which not only looks great, but also opened
up a new area for sunbathing; the addition of some new umbrellas, picnic tables, and lounge chairs to make things
more comfortable.
These were just a few of the enhancements made possible with the grant we received from the state and the
guidance of the Board Members over the past few years. A special thanks to Lou Ellen Miller who, after serving
three years as President, is stepping aside. The work she has done has left the pool in much better shape – with the
improvements noted above and increased membership.
I’d also like to thank all of the members who graciously volunteer their time every year for pool clean-up
days, swim and dive meets, and anything else that needs doing. We are a small club that relies on that spirit of volunteerism to keep us afloat (pun intended!).
As we look forward to our 55th
season one of our goals is to continue to grow our membership. Our membership costs are the best deal in town, so please pass the word to your friends and neighbors. The Board is always open to the input of the members as to how we can make Riddlewood Swim Club a better experience for everyone –
so do not hesitate to let us know what you think. See you this summer!
~Andy Nolan, President

A Message To Members From Board Vice-President

It is that time of year again!  I don't know about you, but I am ready to sit on the deck, catch up with my pool friends, drink a cool beverage, and listen to the kids playing in the pool.

First I would like to welcome ANDY NOLAN as PRESIDENT of the RSC Board of Directors.  Andy has been an asset to the Board the past year and graciously stepped up to lead us this season.

Welcome back to Andrea Vigliotti - Andrea took a brief hiatus from the Board, but is back and is handling bonds.

Many thanks to out-going Board members, Lou Ellen Miller and Tracy Kohler.  These ladies worked very hard the past several years raising funds for RSC.  Thank you for your service - and we better see you at the pool this summer!

That means there is an opening on the Board of Directors - please contact Andy Nolan or myself if interested.

In the off-season we had several fun and profitable fundraisers including: an evergreen fundraiser, the Beef-n-Beer at Edgemont Country Club, and Zac's Night.  Your RSC volunteer Board of Directors is working very hard to get the pool ready for opening and wants to thank all the members of the community that are coming together to make it happen.  We are the little pool that could!

We are in the process of hiring a new manager as well as a swim team coach!  I will keep you posted when final decisions are made.

Want to work off your maintenance fee ($100)?  Help out at the spring Clean Ups!  First one is scheduled for Saturday, April 21st at 10 AM.  If you would like to help, contact Andy Poole for more information.  He will be working on the pool prior to this clean up, so contact him if you want to set up other opportunities to help.

If you were a new member family last season and/or you do not already own one, you need to purchase a bond this season.  You can purchase one directly from RSC for $350 or finance it for $60 per year for 7 years.  Bonds also are available from former members.  Contact Andrea Vigliotti if you have any questions about bonds.  BONDS MUST BE PURCHASED WHEN YOU PAY YOUR MEMBERSHIP FEES.  IF YOU ARE TRANSFERRING A BOND, HAVE SIGNED BOND READY TO BE TRANSFERRED AT SIGN UP.

Riddlewood Swim Club opens Saturday, May 26th at 12 noon! I will be at the pool that day from 10 AM -2 PM accepting registration forms and payments.  Pay PRIOR TO MAY 1st and get 4 FREE SWIM PASSES for the 2012 season.

If you cannot make it to registration, you can leave your form and check at the pool office or send it to the pool P.O. Box.  We are the best bargain in town.  Please talk us up and get your friends and neighbors to join.

Thanks for your continued support and I hope to see you poolside very soon!  Please contact me if you have any questions.
